General details
If you generate a sales invoice from a source document (such as a quotation or sales order), its general details are automatically prefilled. You can edit them.

Invoice type | A sales invoice type. One of the following:

Customer | A customer that a sales invoice is created for. The customer list is based on the Counterparties catalog filtered by counterparty with the Customer account type. If required, you can clear the filter to view the full list of counterparties. |
Not checked | Click the link to check a customer's VAT number validity through the VAT Information Exchange System (VIES). If the check is passed, the customer's company name and address are filled in and the link is changed to VAT verified. If the check is failed, the link is changed to VAT not verified. The link is available if the Use VIES VAT ID validation checkbox is selected in Settings > Company. |
Contract | A customer's contract. When you specify a contract, its billing details apply to a sales invoice. This prefills the sales invoice's Prices and currency settings (such as prices, discounts, and currency) and payment terms. It is available if contracts are applicable to the customer (the Contracts checkbox is selected in the customer's card). |
Base document | The source document for a sales invoice (such as a quotation). This field is prefilled if you generate a sales invoice from another document. It is recommended that you edit this field only if you are creating a sales invoice from scratch. After you select a base document, you can click ![]() The Base document field is available for sales invoices where Invoice type is Invoice or Advance invoice. |
Reservation under | A sales order or work order that a sales invoice is created for. Specify an order to be able to trace the sales invoice to the order and invoice products reserved for the order. This field is prefilled if you generate a sales invoice from a sales order or work order. Note. The field is shown on the Products tab if you generate a sales invoice from multiple orders. You can also select the field position in a sales invoice. To do this, at the top part of the sales invoice, click More actions > Settings and select the field position. The Reservation under field is available for sales invoices where Invoice type is Invoice or Advance invoice. |
Third-party payment | Select the checkbox if a sales invoice is paid through a third-party payment processor. The checkbox is available if both of the following conditions are met:

Payer | A third-party payment processor that a sales invoice is paid through. The payer list is based on the Counterparties catalog filtered by counterparty with the Other relationship account type. The Payer field is available if a sales invoice meets all of the following conditions:

Payer's contract | A third-party payment processor's contract. The contract list includes only the contracts with the currency matching a sales invoice currency. The Payer's contract field is available if all of the following conditions are met:

Number | The sales invoice ID. It is automatically generated when you post the sales invoice. You can edit it. You can find sales invoices by ID in the Sales invoices list. |
Date | Date of the sales invoice's register records. By default, it is the date of the document's creation. |
Company | The company that sells products. The company list is based on the Companies catalog. This field is available if the Manage multiple companies checkbox is selected in Settings > Company. |
VAT ID | The VAT identification number of the specified company. This field is available if both of the following conditions are met:

Warehouse | A warehouse the invoiced products are shipped from. The warehouse list is based on the Warehouses catalog. It is available if both of the following conditions are met:

Storage bin | A storage bin the invoiced products are shipped from. The storage bin list includes the storage bins of the selected warehouse. It is available if both of the following conditions are met:

GL accounts | GL accounts for recording accounts receivable and advance payments received. They are available if the default accounting is applied (Use default type of accounting is selected in Settings > Company). |
Prices and currency | A link to the settings specifying the price type, promotional code, discount, currency, and tax that apply to a sales invoice. In all invoice types except zero invoices, these settings are applied to fill in prices, predefined discounts, tax, and amounts for the products included in the sales invoice. In zero invoices, these settings are for reference purposes only. By default, the settings are populated from the billing details of the specified customer. You can edit them. |

A icon for specifying a promotional code for a sales invoice. Click the icon, then, in the displayed dialog, specify a promotional code name and click OK. 1C:Drive searches for an active promotional code by the specified name. If the promotional code is found, it is populated to the Prices and currency settings. You will also see its name in the link to these settings. Then, to apply the promotional code, click the Apply discounts button on the Products tab. This applies the discount the promotional code is associated with. For details on how to use promotional codes, see Using promotional codes. The icon is available if the Use promotional codes checkbox is selected in Settings > Sales. |
Delivery date (or Delivery period) | The date or period when the invoiced products are delivered. It is shown as a link. To specify the delivery date or period, click the link and fill in the delivery date settings. To specify the delivery date or period for each product separately, select the Show the delivery date in the products list checkbox. Then the delivery date or period appears on the Products tab. The delivery date or period is shown in a sales invoice's print forms and applied to calculate delivery periods in the closing invoice processing tool. The Delivery date field is always available for sales invoices where Invoice type is Closing invoice. For other invoice types, the field is available if the Show delivery date checkbox is selected in the company's accounting policy, on the Print forms tab. |
