Components tab
The Components tab of a production document contains the list of components that were consumed during the production, assembly, or disassembly process.
To learn about the Components tab fields, see the following table:
Field | Description |
---|---|
Consume from | A warehouse (and, optionally, a storage bin) from which the components were consumed. The field is only available if Process type is set to Assembly. The Storage bin field is only available if the Inventory accounting by storage bins checkbox is selected in Settings > Purchases/Warehouse. |
Transfer to (finished products) | A warehouse (and, optionally, a storage bin) that stores the components produced during disassembly. The field is only available if Process type is set to Disassembly. The Storage bin field is only available if the Inventory accounting by storage bins checkbox is selected in Settings > Purchases/Warehouse. |
Product | A component name. The list of values is based on the Products catalog and includes products of the Inventory type. |
Variant | A component characteristic. For example, color or size. You can specify a variant if accounting by variants is enabled and applies to the component (in the component's card, the Variants checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab). The list of values is based on the Product variants catalog. |
Batch | A component batch code. You can specify a batch if accounting by batches is enabled and applies to the component (in the component's card, the Batches checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab). |
Serial numbers | A component's serial number. It is used to track components by serial numbers. You can specify a serial number if accounting by serial numbers is enabled and applies to the component (in the component's card, the Serial numbers checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab). It is only available if Process type is set to Assembly or Disassembly. |
Quantity | The number of component units that were consumed or produced during disassembly. If Quantity is populated from a bill of materials that has Normal scrap % specified, it is increased by the Normal scrap % value. |
Reservation | The number of component units stored at your warehouse that are reserved for this production document. It is only available if Process type is set to Assembly. |
Unit | A unit of measure for the component. It is prefilled with a base unit from the component's card. You can specify another unit if a component has additional units. |
Cost share | The component's cost share in the disassembled product's cost. It is required for calculating the cost of the components produced during disassembly. It is only available if Process type is set to Disassembly. By default, cost share of each component is 1. This means that the disassembled product's cost is shared between all components equally. If you want a specific component to carry a larger share of the disassembled product's cost, increase its Cost share, and vice versa. For example, if a product is disassembled into three components with cost shares 1, 1, and 3, the product's cost is shared between these components as follows: 20%, 20%, 60%. |
GL accounts | GL accounts for recording component inventory balance. They are available if the default accounting is applied (Use default type of accounting is selected in Settings > Company). |
