Managing tasks

Task management is a process of identifying, monitoring, and completing tasks required for a project phase completion.

1C:Drive supports the following steps of this process:

Creating tasks

With tasks, you can breakdown a project phase scope into small manageable pieces of work and assign them to certain employees. Create tasks when a project phase is started (its status is In progress). For details, see Creating project tasks.

Editing task details

As a task author, you might need to edit the task details. For example, change the task due date.

To edit task details:

  1. Login to 1C:Drive as a user with the Administrator access rights.
  2. Go to Company.
  3. Under Project management, click Projects.
  4. In the Projects catalog, double-click a project line:
  5. in the project details window, in the link bar, click Tasks.
  6. In the Tasks list, double-click a task line.
  7. At the bottom of the task details window, click Change job.
    The task details are shown in the editing mode.
  8. Edit the task details.
  9. Click Save and close.

Monitoring task statuses and dates

To monitor task statuses and deadlines, use the following options:

Viewing statuses and dates of all project tasks

To view statuses and dates of all project tasks:

  1. Login to 1C:Drive as a user with the Administrator access rights.
  2. Go to Company.
  3. Under Project management, click Projects.
  4. In the Projects catalog, double-click a project line:
  5. in the project details window, in the link bar, click Tasks.
  6. In the Tasks list, check task dates in the following fields:
    Field Description
    Due date The planned end date of a task.
    Date The actual end date of a task.
  7. To check a task status, consider the task line formatting. The following table shows the types of formatting and the related task status:
    Type of formatting Task status
    Bold font, red color A task is not in progress yet and it is overdue already.
    Bold font, black color A task is not in progress and it is not overdue yet.
    Normal font, black color A task is in progress and not overdue.
    Normal font, red color A task is in progress and overdue.
    Normal font, greyish green color A task is completed.

Viewing statuses and dates of tasks of a project phase

To view statuses and dates of the tasks of a project phase:

  1. Login to 1C:Drive as a user with the Administrator access rights.
  2. Go to Company.
  3. In the Projects catalog, do any of the following:
    • Select a project line and click Project workplace.
    • Double-click a project line. Then, in the project details window, click Project workplace.
  4. In the project workplace, select a project phase line and click Open phase.
  5. In the link bar of the phase details window, click Tasks.
  6. In the Tasks list, check the task dates and statuses as described in Viewing statuses and dates of all project tasks.

Starting working on tasks

When you are assigned a task, it appears on your My tasks pane of the Home page.

To indicate that you start working on it:

  1. On the Home page, on the My tasks pane, double-click a task.
  2. In the task details window, click Accept for execution.
  3. Click Save and close.

On the My tasks pane, the task line formatting is changed to indicate that the task is in progress.

Specifying percentage of task completion

As you work on a task, you can specify its percentage of completion. This is a useful option if you need to indicate how much work is done by a certain moment.

To specify a task percentage of completion:

  1. On the Home page, on the My tasks pane, double-click a task.
  2. At the bottom of the task details window, in the Percent of completion field, enter the percentage.
  3. Click Save and close.

Completing tasks

As you complete a task, do the following:

  1. On the Home page, on the My tasks pane, double-click a task.
  2. At the bottom of the task details window, click Completed.

The percentage of completion is set 100% and the task is removed from your My tasks pane.
