Rearranging production orders queue
Production orders are arranged in the queue according to their priority. When a production order is added to the queue, it takes the last position in a group of production orders with the same priority. The higher the priority, the higher the production order position in the queue.
Production orders with the higher position are scheduled first. If you want to change the order of scheduling, rearrange the production orders queue. You have the following options:
Changing production orders priorities
To change the priority of a production order in the queue:
- Go to Production > Planning > Production planning and control.
- Double-click a production order line.
- In the Priority field, select a priority.
- Click Post and close.
The production order takes the last position in the group of production orders with the same priority.
Note. After you change a production order priority, the production orders in the queue can require rescheduling.
Manually moving production orders
You can manually move production orders up or down the queue. This applies only to production orders with the same priority. For instance, you can move a production order with a medium priority to a position above other production orders with this priority. However, you cannot move a production order with a low priority to a position above a production order with a medium priority.
To manually move a production order up or down the queue:
- Go to Production > Planning > Production planning and control.
- Select a production order line.
- Do one of the following:
- To move the production order up the queue, click .
- To move the production order down the queue, click
Note. After you change a production order position in the queue, the production orders can require rescheduling.
Specifying operations for production orders
When the production order details are finalized and the priority is defined, generate work-in-progress documents. This will register a work-in-progress document for each operation required for completing the production orders. Then you will be able to schedule them.
To generate work-in-progress documents for a production order:
- Go to Production > Planning > Production planning and control.
- On the filter pane, select the Generating Work-in-progress checkbox.
The production orders queue shows only the production orders that require generating work-in-progress documents.
Note. The queue can include production orders with linked work-in-progress documents. This happens if some operations were omitted when work-in-progress documents were generated for production orders. For instance, this can happen if you decide to take a component from stock instead of producing it. - In the production orders queue, select a production order line.
- Click Actions and select Generate Work-in-progress.
- In the Generate Work-in-progress for production order <ID and date> window, select the Generate checkbox for each operation that you want to register.
Note. The operations list is based on the bill of materials (BOM) of the product specified in the production order. If the product BOM is multilevel, the operations list includes operations from each BOM level. For instance, a 3-level BOM includes a component with a BOM that includes another component with a BOM. In this case, the operations list includes operations from each BOM. 1C:Drive supports up to 3 levels in BOM. - Click Generate Work-in-progress.
The work-in-progress column is filled in with the links to the generated work-in-progress documents. You can click these links to view the documents.
