General details

When you generate a production task from a work-in-progress document, its general details are populated automatically from that document. You can edit them if necessary.

To edit the general details of a production task, open the Main tab.

Field Description
Status The lifecycle status of a production task.
To learn more, see Monitoring and changing production task statuses.
Work-in-progress The work-in-progress document that a production task is based on.
Start date (Scheduled) The planned start date and time of a production task.
Due date (Scheduled) The planned end date and time of a production task.
Work center type Work center type where a production task is fulfilled.
The list of values is based on the Work center types catalog.
It is only available if workload planning is enabled (the Use workload planning checkbox is selected in Settings > Production planning).
Work center Work center where a production task is fulfilled.
The list of values is based on the Work centers catalog.

Start date (Actual) The start date and time registered by the production task assignee or a person responsible for managing production tasks.
Due date (Actual) The end date and time registered by the production task assignee or a person responsible for managing production tasks.
Assignee An employee or employee team assigned to complete a production task.
The list of values is based on the Employees and Teams catalogs.
Number Production task ID.
It is automatically generated when you post a production task. You can edit it.
You can find production tasks by ID in the Production tasks list.
Date Date of the production task's register records. By default, it is the date of the production task's creation.
Company The company responsible for completing a production task.
The list of values is based on the Companies catalog.
You can select a company if the Manage multiple companies checkbox is selected in Settings > Company.
Product A product manufactured by completing a production task.
This field is automatically filled from the work-in-progress document. It is read-only.
Variant A product characteristic. For example, color or size.
This field is automatically filled from the work-in-progress document. It is read-only.
Bill of materials A list of components required to manufacture a product.
This field is automatically filled from the work-in-progress document. It is read-only.
Quantity The number of product items to manufacture.
This field is automatically filled from the work-in-progress document. It is read-only.
Operation An operation performed by a production task.
The list of values is based on the Operations catalog.
An operation is followed by either of the following icons:
green_arrow.png. Indicates that an operation is the last in the sequence specified in the bill of materials. This operation is the final step of a production process. The operation output is either a finished product or a semi-finished product required for another production process.
grey_arrow.png. Indicates that an operation is not the last in the sequence specified in the bill of materials.
Standard time Planned duration for a single completion of an operation, and the unit of measurement. For example, 15 minutes.
This field is automatically filled from the work-in-progress document. It is read-only.
Quantity (under Operation) The number of times that the operation must be completed.
