Operations catalog
A production process can be represented as a chain of steps called operations.
For example, the process of manufacturing a sofa consists of the following operations:
- Cutting wood
- Building a frame
- Stuffing
- Applying the covering
Operations are registered in work-in-progress documents. This ensures accounting for the manufacturing overheads incurred in the operations. These overheads are included in the cost of finished goods.
To learn more, see Multioperation make-to-order process.
