Cost drivers catalog
A cost driver is the unit of a production activity that affects the activity's cost. Each consumed cost driver unit causes the cost to change by the amount determined by a related manufacturing overheads rate.
For example, if your cost driver is labor hours and your manufacturing overheads rate is $100, each consumed labor hour increases the manufacturing cost by $100.
Examples of cost drivers are:
- Labor hours
- Machine hours
- Volume of output
In 1C:Drive, cost drivers are involved in the production processes. They can be used to assign the following:
- A predetermined overhead rate for manufacturing operations.
- A unit of measure for both standard and actual workloads of manufacturing operations.
1C:Drive stores all cost drivers in the Cost drivers catalog. To open it:
- Go to Production.
- Under Catalogs, click Cost drivers.
In the Cost drivers catalog, you can do the following:
Viewing cost drivers
To view cost drivers:
- Go to Production.
- Under Catalogs, click Cost drivers.
The Cost drivers list contains the following column:
- Description. A cost driver name or short description.
To quickly find a cost driver in the list:
- Sort the list by clicking the column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
- Search the list using the search field above the list.
Creating cost drivers
To create a cost driver:
- Go to Production.
- Under Catalogs, click Cost drivers.
- Click Create.
- In the Cost driver (create) window, enter the cost driver name or short description.
- Click Save and close.
Editing cost drivers
To edit a cost driver:
- Go to Production.
- Under Catalogs, click Cost drivers.
- Double-click a cost driver line.
- Edit the cost driver description.
- Click Save and close.
