Time units catalog
The Time units catalog stores time units of measure for operations in the Multioperation make-to-order process. For instance, you can measure an operation’s time in minutes or hours.
After you create time units of measure in the Time units catalog, you can select them in the Operations catalog. The selected time units of measure will be prefilled for operations in the following documents:
- Bill of materials
- Work in progress
The Time units catalog is available if the Use production planning checkbox is selected in Settings > Production > Production planning.
To open the Time units catalog, do the following:
- In the navigation menu, click Company.
- Under Enterprise, click All catalogs.
- Under Production, click Time units.
In this catalog, you can do the following:
Viewing time units of measure
The Time units list contains the following columns:
- Description. A time unit name or short description.
- Code. A time unit ID.
To quickly find a UOM:
- Sort the Time units list by clicking a column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
- Search the Time units list using the search field above the list.
Creating time units
To create a time unit:
- Open the Time units catalog.
- Click Create.
- In the Time unit (Create) window, enter or select the following:
Field Description Code A time unit ID. You can find time units by ID in the Time units list.
Description A time unit name or short description. Conversion rate A conversion factor for converting a time unit into minutes. This is required for production scheduling purposes.
- Click Save and close.
Editing time units
To edit a time unit:
- Open the Time units catalog.
- Double-click a time unit line.
- Edit the time unit details as described in Creating time units of measure.
- Click Save and close.
