Work-in-progress management workplace

1C:Drive provides the Work-in-progress management workplace. It is designed to help you manage the work-in-progress documents.

The Work-in-progress management workplace stores work-in-progress documents with Production order fields filled in. In the workplace, the details of work-in-progress documents are arranged so that you can easily check due dates, monitor statuses, generate production tasks, and register completion of technological operations.

To open the workplace, go to Production > Planning > Work-in-progress management. The workplace view and tools vary depending on its settings.

If you want to generate production tasks, ensure that the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other.

Viewing work-in-progress documents

To view work-in-progress documents:

  • Go to Production > Planning > Work-in-progress management.

The Work-in-progress management list shows work-in-progress documents with Production order fields filled in. By default, the list includes only the work-in-progress documents with status Open or In progress. To view all work-in-progress documents, clear the Only active work-in-progress checkbox. Work-in-progress documents are sorted by start date and the priority of the related production order. The start date is either of the following:

  • The start date of work-in-progress document according to the production schedule generated during production planning.
  • The start date of the production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.

The Work-in-progress management list shows the following details:

  • box.png. The status of production tasks related to work-in-progress document. It is shown if the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other.

    The status can be one of the following:

    • green_circle.png. Indicates that all production tasks are completed.
    • partly_green_circle.png. Indicates that some of the production tasks are completed.
    • empty_green_circle.png. Indicates that no production tasks are completed.
    • yellow_circle.png. Indicates that production tasks are created only for some of the operations included in the work-in-progress document.
    • red_circle.png. Indicates that no production tasks are created for operations included in the work-in-progress document.
  • schedule_grey.png. Scheduling status of the work-in-progress document. One of the following:
    • schedule.png. Indicates that the work-in-progress document requires scheduling or rescheduling.
    • No icon. Indicates that scheduling is not required. This applies in the following cases:
      • Work-in-progress document is already scheduled.
      • Work-in-progress document is not included in production planning.
  • Status. The lifecycle status of a work-in-progress document. One of the following:
    • Open. Indicates that the document processing has not started yet.
    • In progress. Indicates that the document processing is in progress.
    • Completed. Indicates that the document processing is completed.
  • Product. The product that is manufactured.
  • Production method. Method used to manufacture the product. One of the following:
    • In-house production. The product is manufactured in-house. The next step is generating a production document.
    • Subcontracting. The product is manufactured by a subcontractor. The next step is generating a subcontractor order issued, which initiates a subcontracting services received process.
  • output.png. The output indicator. One of the following:
    • output_yes.png. Indicates that the work-in-progress document includes an operation that is the last in the sequence specified in the bill of materials. This operation is the final step of a production process. The operation output is either a finished product or a semi-finished product required for another production process.
    • output_no.png. Indicates that the work-in-progress document does not include an operation that is the last in the sequence specified in the bill of materials.
  • Work center types. Work center types assigned to operations included in work-in-progress document.
  • Production order. The production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.
  • Scheduled.
    • Start date. The start date and time of work-in-progress document according to the production schedule generated during production planning.
    • Due date. The due date and time of work-in-progress document according to the production schedule generated during production planning.

      These fields are shown if the Use production planning checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Production planning

  • Ordered.
    • Start date. The start date of the production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.
    • Due date. The due date of the production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.

To quickly find work-in-progress documents:

  • Filter work-in-progress documents using the fields above the list of work-in-progress documents. You can filter by the following parameters:
    • Department. A department responsible for processing the work-in-progress document.
    • Status. The lifecycle status of the work-in-progress document. One of the following:
      • Open. Indicates that the document processing has not started yet.
      • In progress. Indicates that the document processing is in progress.
      • Completed. Indicates that the document processing is completed.
    • Work center type. A work center type assigned to an operation included in the work-in-progress document.
    • Production order. A production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.
    • Ordered start date. The start date of the production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.
    • Ordered due date. The due date of the production order that the work-in-progress document is related to.
    • Scheduled due date. The due date and time of work-in-progress document according to the production schedule generated during production planning.

      This field is shown if the Use production planning checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Production planning.

    • Only active Work-in-progress. Shows work-in-progress documents with status Open or In progress.
  • Search the list of work-in-progress documents using the search field above the list.
  • Filter the list of work-in-progress documents using the filter pane to the right of the list. You have the following options:
    • require_production_tasks.png Creating production tasks. Shows work-in-progress that requires generating production tasks.

      The checkbox is available if the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other.

    • require_completing.png Completing. Shows work-in-progress with related production tasks in status Completed. The total quantity of operations in these tasks matches the quantity of operations included in the work-in-progress document.

      The checkbox is available if the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other.

    • overdue.png Overdue. Shows work-in-progress that is related to overdue production orders.
    • last_operation_with_output.png Last operation with output. Shows work-in-progress including an operation that is the last in the sequence specified in the bill of materials. This operation is the final step of a production process. The operation output is either a finished product or a semi-finished product required for another production process.

To switch to another workplace for production management:

  • On the filter pane to the right of the work-in-progress list, click the following links:
    • Production planning and control. A link to a workplace for the production planning and control. The link is available if the Use production planning checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Production planning.
    • Production tasks. A link to a production tasks list.

      The link is available if the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other.

Completing work-in-progress documents

During production, you need to track completion of technological operations in a related work-in-progress document.

You can register either a single operation, or the entire document, as completed.

Completing operations

To register completion of a single operation:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Planning, click Work-in-progress management.
  3. To quickly find the required work-in-progress document, do any of the following:
    • If the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other, on the filter pane to the right of the work-in-progress list, select the Completing checkbox. Now, the list shows only the work-in-progress documents with related production tasks in status Completed. The total quantity of operations in these tasks matches the quantity of operations included in the work-in-progress document.
    • Above the work-in-progress list, select the Only active Work-in-progress checkbox. Now, the list shows only the work-in-progress documents with status Open or In progress.
  4. In the work-in-progress list, double-click the work-in-progress document.
  5. In the document window, open the Operations tab.
  6. Select the Done checkbox related to the completed operation.
  7. Click Post and close.

Completing documents

To register completion of the entire document:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Planning, click Work-in-progress management.
  3. To quickly find the required work-in-progress document, do any of the following:
    • If the Use production tasks checkbox is selected in Settings > Accounting settings > Production > Other, on the filter pane to the right of the work-in-progress list, select the Completing checkbox. Now, the list shows only the work-in-progress documents with related production tasks in status Completed. The total quantity of operations in these tasks matches the quantity of operations included in the work-in-progress document.
    • Above the work-in-progress list, select the Only active Work-in-progress checkbox. Now, the list shows only the work-in-progress documents with status Open or In progress.
  4. In the work-in-progress list, select the work-in-progress document. To select multiple documents, click them while holding down Ctrl or Shift.
  5. Above the work-in-progress list, click Actions and select Complete.
