Barcodes in business documents

Overview

This article explains how to select products by barcodes when adding products to a business document.

For basic information on barcodes, see Barcodes catalog.

Selecting products by barcode

1C:Drive offers barcode tracking capabilities that help you to quickly find a product by its barcode.

When you add a product to a business document that supports barcodes, such as goods issue, you can enter a barcode instead of manually specifying a product (and, optionally, its variant, batch, and serial number), which could take a lot of time and effort.

To add a product by barcode, click barcode_search.png in the document's toolbar and enter the barcode.

If the barcode you've entered is in the Barcodes catalog, the product it refers to will be added to the document.

A barcode can refer to a specific product variant, batch, or serial number. In this case, the product will be added together with the variant, batch, or serial number data.

For example, a barcode can refer to a silk shirt (product), to a red XL silk shirt (product with variant), or a red XL silk shirt marked with a specific number (product with variant and serial number).

If the barcode you've entered is not in the Barcodes catalog, you will be prompted to register this barcode and link it to a product. To learn more, see Creating barcodes. Then, you will be able to add the product to the document.
