Autofilling warehouses and storage bins

As you create a business document, you might need to specify a separate warehouse and/or storage bin for each product. Some documents, like sales orders or goods issues, have the Warehouses tool that can help you do this automatically.

The tool is only available if both of the following conditions are met:

• The Multi-warehouse accounting checkbox is selected in Settings > Purchases / Warehouse.
• Warehouse/storage bin accounting per product is enabled in the document's settings (in the document, go to More actions > Settings and set Warehouse location and/or Storage bin location to In tabular section).

The tool's name may change to reflect the list of storage-related fields currently available for autofilling in a document. It can be Warehouses, Storage bins, or Warehouses and Storage bins.

To autofill warehouses:

• On a document's inventory tab (often named Products or Goods), do either of the following:
  • To specify the default warehouse for each product, click Warehouses > Fill in default warehouse.
  • To select a warehouse and specify it for all products, click Warehouses > Select and fill warehouse.
  • To clear the warehouse selection for all products, click Warehouses > Clear warehouses.

To autofill storage bins:

• On a document's inventory tab, do either of the following:
  • To specify the default storage bin for each product, click Storage bins > Fill in default bins.
  • To select a storage bin and specify it for all products, click Storage bins > Select and fill storage bin.
    Note. The list of storage bins only includes bins registered in the selected warehouse.
  • To clear the storage bin selection for all products, click Storage bins > Clear storage bin.

To autofill warehouses and storage bins:

• On a document's inventory tab, do either of the following:
  • To specify the default warehouse and default storage bin for each product, click Warehouses and storage bins > Fill in warehouses and bins.
  • To select a warehouse and storage bin and specify them for all products, click Warehouses and storage bins > Select and fill in warehouse and bin.
  • To clear the warehouse and storage bin selection for all products, click Warehouses and storage bins > Clear warehouses and bins.
