Container types catalog

Containers are objects in which goods are stored or transported. For example, crates, boxes, or pallets.

In 1C:Drive, containers are classified by container type. When managing documents related to shipping of goods, such as packing slip, it is important to specify container types used, so that the logistics company and the recipient know weight and contents of each container.

1C:Drive stores all container types in the Container types catalog. To open it:

  1. Go to Warehouse.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Container types.

Viewing container types

To view container types:

  1. Go to Warehouse.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Container types.

The Container types list columns can vary depending on the list settings. By default, the following columns are available:

  • Description. A container type name or short description.
  • Code. A container type ID. It is generated automatically. You cannot edit it.

To quickly find a container type:

  • Sort the catalog by column by clicking a column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
  • Search the catalog using the search field above the list.

To view the container type details:

In the Container types catalog, double-click a container type line.

Creating container types

To create a container type:

  1. Go to Warehouse.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Container types.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the Container type (create) window, enter or select the following:
    Field Description
    Description A name or short description of a container type.
    For example, "Box" or "Pallet 1x1m".
    Weight Weight of a container of this type.
    It is used in packing slips to determine total (gross) weight of each shipment.
    If Weight unit is defined in Settings > Purchases/Warehouse, that unit is added to the field name in parentheses.
    For example, if Weight unit is set to "kg", the field name will change to Weight (kg).
  5. Click Save and close.

Editing container type details

To edit details of a container type:

  1. Go to Warehouse.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Container types.
  3. Double-click a container type line.
  4. Edit the container type details in the same way when you create a container type. For details, see Creating container types.
