Reserving materials for work orders

When you create a work order, you can specify materials required to fulfill work items included in the work order. The materials can be inventory consumed at a company's expense and goods charged to a customer's account. You can create a reservation for any of these materials.

To create a reservation for the inventory consumed at a company's expense for completing a certain work item:

  1. In a work order, on the Work and services tab, in the work and services section, select a work item.
  2. In the Inventory consumption section, specify the materials required for the work item and their quantity.
  3. Click Reservation and select Fill in column for current work.

1C:Drive fills the reservation quantity in the Reservation column in the Inventory consumption section. The reservation quantity is filled in for all materials required for the selected work item. You can change these reservation quantities manually. To clear them, click Reservation > Clear column for current work.

To create a reservation for the inventory consumed at a company's expense for completing all work items:

  1. In a work order, on the Work and services tab, in the work and services section, specify work items.
  2. In the Inventory consumption section, specify the materials required for the work items and the quantity of these materials.
  3. Click Reservation and select Fill in column for all works.

1C:Drive fills the reservation quantity in the Reservation column in the Inventory consumption section. The reservation quantity is filled in for all materials required for all work items in the work order. You can change these reservation quantities manually. To clear them, click Reservation > Clear column for all works.

To create a reservation for the goods charged to a customer's account:

  1. In a work order, on the Goods for sale tab, specify the materials charged to a customer's account and the quantity of these materials.
  2. Click Reservation and select Fill in column.

1C:Drive fills the reservation quantity in the Reservation column in the Goods for sale tab. The reservation quantity is filled in for all materials charged to the customer's account. You can change these reservation quantities manually. To clear them, click Reservation > Clear column.

In all cases above, 1C:Drive fills in the reservation quantity matching the material quantity if stock is sufficient. Otherwise, 1C:Drive fills in the quantity currently available in stock. If the materials are out of stock, the Reservation column remains blank.

The reservation for the materials is recorded when you post the work order.

On the Work and services and Goods for sale tabs, you might specify the same material and enter the material's reservation quantity (on one or both tabs). The total material quantity can be greater than its total reservation quantity. Then, a single reservation is made for the total reservation quantity. The reservation is released on posting the first sales Invoice or inventory transfer based on the work order.
