The Packing tab of a packing slip contains the list of containers in the shipment and the list of products in each container.

Existing packages section

This is the list of containers in the shipment.

Field Description
Container type Type of a container (for example, box, pallet).
The list of values is based on the Container types catalog.
Weight (shipping weight unit) Total weight of the container.
It is automatically calculated as the sum of the empty container's weight and its contents' weight, where:
  • Weight of the empty container comes from the container's card.
  • Weight of the container's contents comes from the Package content section of this tab.

It is measured in shipping weight units (to change the shipping weight unit, go to Settings > Purchases/Warehouse and under Shipping weight, specify Weight unit).
You can edit this field.
Internal ID The container's ID number.
It is for reference only.
Tracking number Container's tracking number provided by the logistics company.
It is for reference only.

Available items section

This is the aggregated list of products from all sales orders displayed on the Main tab.

You can quickly copy products from here to the Package contents section.

Field Description
Products A product name.
Variant A product characteristic. For example, color or size.
You can specify a variant if accounting by variants is enabled and applies to the product (in the product card, the Variants checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
The list of values is based on the Product variants catalog.
Batch A product batch code.
You can specify a batch if accounting by batches is enabled and applies to the product (in the product card, the Batches checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
Unit A unit of measure for the product.
It is prefilled with a base unit from the product card.
You can specify another unit if a product has additional units.
This field is only available if the Use multiple units of measurement checkbox is selected in Settings > Purchases/Warehouse.
Quantity The number of product items.
Weight (shipping weight unit) Total weight of the product items.
It is automatically calculated as Quantity × Weight (from the product card).
It is measured in shipping weight units (to change the shipping weight unit, go to Settings > Purchases/Warehouse and under Shipping weight, specify Weight unit).
You can edit it.

Package contents section

This is the list of products in each container.

This section displays only the products assigned to the container currently selected in the Existing packages section. Click a container to view its contents.
Field Description
Products A product name.
Variant A product characteristic. For example, color or size.
You can specify a variant if accounting by variants is enabled and applies to the product (in the product card, the Variants checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
The list of values is based on the Product variants catalog.
Batch A product batch code.
You can specify a batch if accounting by batches is enabled and applies to the product (in the product card, the Batches checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
Serial numbers A product's serial number.
It is used to track products by serial numbers.
You can specify a serial number if accounting by serial numbers is enabled and applies to the product (in the product card, the Serial numbers checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
Unit A unit of measure for the product.
It is prefilled with a base unit from the product card.
You can specify another unit if a product has additional units.
