Creating credit notes
In 1C:Drive, you can create credit notes to record various business operations.
To view a detailed guide on creating a credit note for a specific operation, click the operation name in the table below:
| Operation | Document purpose |
|---|---|
| Discount allowed | Apply a discount to an invoice issued to a customer. |
| Sales return | Adjust a customer's balance due to goods return, including return of drop shipped goods.
A credit note can also record the fact of goods return to a company's warehouse or, in the case of a drop shipped goods return, directly to the supplier's warehouse. This applies if the Credit note posts all entries, including inventory option is selected in a company's accounting policy.
|
| Accounts receivable adjustments | Adjust a customer's balance for a reason other than sales return or discount allowed. For example, record compensation for delayed goods delivery. This operation is available if the Adjust accounts receivable checkbox is selected in Settings > Sales, under Credit note. |
You can create a credit note from scratch or generate it from other business documents (such as a sales invoice, sales slip, RMA request, and goods receipt). A generated credit note includes prefilled details and a link to the source document, which reduces manual data entry and ensures document traceability.
