Editing work-in-progress documents
To edit a work-in-progress document:
- Go to Production.
- Under Production, click Work-in-progress.
- In the Work-in-progress list, double-click a work-in-progress document line.
- Edit any of the following:
Note. You cannot edit work-in progress documents that have Completed status.
- Click Post and close.
Editing general details
You are expected to edit the general details of a work-in-progress document at least once during its lifecycle—you need to set the document status to In progress before you can mark any operations as completed. You might also want to make other changes.

Editing operations
A work-in-progress document contains the list of operations required to manufacture the product.
You can:
- Mark completed operations.
- Edit operation details.
- Add operations to a work-in-progress document.
- Remove operations from a work-in-progress document.
Marking completed operations
As the manufacturing process progresses, mark completed operations in the related work-in-progress document.
To do this:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Operations tab.
- Select the Done checkbox for each operation that was physically completed, and specify a completion date.
- Click Post and close.
Editing operation details
To edit operation details:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Operations tab.
- Specify operation details, such as start date.

Adding operations
To add an operation to a work-in-progress document:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Operations tab.
- Do one of the following:
- To add operations manually, click Add and specify operation details.
- To import operations from a bill of materials, click Fill from BOM.
This option is only available if you specified a bill of materials that includes operations in the general details.
- Fill in or review the fields available for each operation.

Removing operations
To remove an operation from a work-in-progress document, on the Operations tab, right-click the operation and select Delete from the context menu.
Editing components
A work-in-progress document contains the list of components to be consumed during manufacturing.
You can:
- Edit component details.
- Add components to a work-in-progress document.
- Remove components from a work-in-progress document.
Editing component details
To edit component details:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Components tab.
- Specify component details, such as quantity.

Adding components
To add a component to a work-in-progress document:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Components tab.
- In the Consume from field, specify a source warehouse and, optionally, a storage bin.
Storage bin field is only available if the Inventory accounting by storage bins checkbox is selected in Settings > Purchase/Warehouse. - Do one of the following:
- To add components manually, click Add and specify component details.
- To select components from the Products catalog, click Select.
- To find components by barcode, click .
- To import components from a bill of materials, click Fill from BOM.
This option is only available if you specified a bill of materials that includes components in the general details.
- Fill in or review the fields available for each component.

Removing components
To remove a component from a work-in-progress document, on the Сomponents tab, right-click the component and select Delete from the context menu.
Note. Removing components from a work-in-progress document might disrupt the further production process registration in 1C:Drive. Before removing a component from the document, make sure you really need to do this.
Editing by-products
By-products are additional outputs of manufacturing. For example, metal shavings are by-products of the bushing production.
You can:
- Edit by-product details.
- Add by-products to a work-in-progress document.
- Remove by-products from a work-in-progress document.

To edit by-product details:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the By-products tab.
- Specify by-product details, such as quantity.

Adding by-products
- In a work-in-progress document, open the By-products tab.
- In the Transfer to field, specify a destination warehouse for by-products and, optionally, a storage bin.

- To add by-products manually, click Add and specify by-product details.

Removing by-products
To remove a by-product from a work-in-progress document, on the By-products tab, right-click the by-product and select Delete from the context menu.

To edit additional information:
- In a work-in-progress document, open the Additional information tab.
- Fill in or review the available fields.
