Transfers and promotions overview
While doing payroll, you might need to record an employee's transfer or promotion. For example, transfer to another department or promotion to a higher position.
To manage transfers and promotions of employees, use the "Transfer and promotion" document. This document indicates that an employee's position or earnings and deductions have been changed.
The "Transfer and promotion" document is an optional part of the payroll process. The document data is applied to fill in timesheets and calculate payroll payable.
To manage the "Transfer and promotion" documents, use the Transfers and promotions list. It is available if the Enable Payroll subsystem checkbox is selected in Settings > Payroll.
To open the Transfers and promotions list, go to Payroll and, under HR recordkeeping, click Transfers and promotions.
