Viewing fixed assets
To view fixed assets:
- Go to Company.
- Under Fixed assets, click Fixed assets.
The Fixed assets list columns can vary depending on the list settings. By default, the following columns are available:
- Description, Inv. #. A fixed asset name (or short description) and inventory number.
- Initial cost. The initial cost incurred to acquire a fixed asset.
- Accrued depreciation. The total amount of depreciation accumulated for a fixed asset by now.
- Net book value. A fixed asset's net book value.
Fixed assets can be included in groups. The groups are shown as folders in the Fixed assets list. Expand the groups to view their content. To do this click the arrow icon next to the group name. To collapse the group, click the arrow icon again. To learn more about fixed asset groups, see Creating fixed asset groups.
To quickly find a fixed asset:
- Sort the catalog by column by clicking a column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
- Search the catalog using the search field above the list.
- Filter the catalog using the following filters above the list:
- Company. Shows fixed assets of the selected company. This filter is available if the Manage multiple companies checkbox is selected in Settings > Company.
- State. Shows fixed assets with the selected state, one of the following:
- Recognized. Shows items already recognized as fixed assets. These items are already included in fixed asset recognition documents or opening balance entry documents that record a fixed asset recognition.
- Taken off the books. Shows the fixed assets that are disposed of. These assets are already included in fixed asset write-off documents or fixed asset sale documents, or opening balance entry documents that record a fixed asset disposal.
- Not yet recognized. Shows items not yet recognized as fixed assets. These items are not yet included in fixed asset recognition documents or opening balance entry documents that record a fixed asset recognition.
To view the fixed asset details:
- In the Fixed assets catalog, double-click a fixed asset line.
