Analytical reports as a table or a chart

<< Prev   Next >>

To use an analytical report, select the required report in the list form of the Analytical reports catalog and click Open report.

Analytical reports as a table or a chart are used to visually display the data stored in external and internal infobases. Specify report parameters and filter conditions first in the settings panel, in the right side of the analytical report form. To display the panel, click Filter and sorting panel.

You can select a previously saved analytical report option at the top of the form. The options can have different filters, sorting, and parameters.

To limit the number of report records, you can use controls of the Displayed information amount limitation group. You can output the first N (N%) records.

Materiality threshold allows you to output the records that are at least a percentage of the total of the specified grouping resource.

The Show filter allows you to output report lines. The resource values of these lines must be positive, negative, or non-zero.

If a custom ABC classification field is defined for the current report, you can configure filtering by this field value.

Analytical report drilldown

In the application, you can drill down indicators of generated analytical reports.

Set the drilldown options in the form first. To open the form, click Additional drilldowns.

Developing analytical reports

You can create a new analytical report as a new item of the Analytical reports catalog. When you develop a new report, select a data source and specify the analytical report administrator.

The user defines a data source for the analytical report of the Table or chart kind. The data source can be Data source or Query to infobase. If the data source uses data from the external infobase, specify the infobase in the External infobase field. The infobase source can be:

  • Report indicator
  • Drill-down group indicators
  • Accumulation register
  • Accounting register
  • Transformational adjustment entry
  • Arbitrary query to the infobase
  • Catalog
  • Document

You can access the current or external infobase specified for the data source.

Setting up report structure

When you click Edit, the Report structure setup form appears.

In the Report structure settings form, select the report view from the Table, Cross table, or Chart options first. Depending on the selected value on the Report structure tab, appropriate table fields will be displayed. You can fill these table fields by dragging the data from the Available fields field.

Configure the filter and display rules on the Filter and sorting and Appearance tabs.

Additional report setup

Click Additional settings – Output and appearance settings to configure how to display the report and its conditional appearance. Conditional appearance allows you to determine the color of the background or text by the field value. For example, highlight negative values with a red background color.

Custom fields

Click Additional settings – Output and appearance settings to add additional custom fields that are missing in the query. Custom Formula or ABC classification fields are supported.

Setting up additional drilldowns

You can click Additional drilldowns to open the form where you can list analytical reports. To run these reports, double-click them to drill down the current report.

Queries to infobase

Queries to the current infobase data are stored in the Queries catalog.

The query contains a data composition schema. The schema will be used later in the analytical report generation. The schema structure (resources, fields, groupings, parameters, filters) is displayed in the form tree. To edit the data composition schema, use the wizard. To open the wizard, click Edit composition schema on the Set up data receipt tab.

You can test the data composition schema for the accuracy of the received data. Test it on the Form testing tab. To test the schema, specify parameters and filters in the form. To start the testing process, click Check query.
