Resolution for the Error “MMC could not create the snap-in”
Question: When I try to create 1C:Enterprise 8.3 server instances on a Windows Server system, I receive the error “MMC could not create the snap-in”. How can I resolve it?
Answer: After installing 1C:Enterprise 8.3 with administration components on Windows Server (e.g. 2012 R2, 2019), it is possible to encounter the error below when trying to launch the administration console "Administration of 1C Enterprise Server x86-64".
To resolve the problem, you can simply run the Server administration utility registration as administrator. You can find the registration script in the directories below:
- Start Menu > 1C Enterprise 8 (x86-64) > Server administration utility registration <platform version>
- C:\Program Files\1cv8\<platform version>\bin\RegMSC.cmd (64-bit installation)
- C:\Program Files (x86)\1cv8\<platform version>\bin\RegMSC.cmd (32-bit installation)
If you receive the message “DllRegisterServer and DllInstall in …\radmin.dll succeeded.” about the successful registration of the library, it means that you have completed the operation. You should restart 1CV8 Servers application and not receive the error again.
