Creating POS terminals

To create a POS terminal, consider the type of the point of sales where the POS terminal is used. The following table shows the point of sale types and POS terminal usage in each of them.

Type of POS POS terminal usage
Physical POS A POS terminal is used for sales in offline retail stores using cash registers. In 1C:Drive, such a POS terminal is used in the following processes: To learn how to create this POS terminal, see Creating POS terminal for physical POS.
Online payments A POS terminal is used for sales through services like online stores. In 1C:Drive, this POS terminal is used for recording online payments and online receipts. To learn how to create this POS terminal, see, see Creating POS terminal for online payments.

Creating POS terminal for physical POS

To create a POS terminal for a physical POS:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Enterprise, click All catalogs.
  3. In the Information reference window, under Retail, click POS terminals.
  4. Click Create.
  5. In the POS terminal (create) window, do the following:
    • Fill in Description to indicate a POS terminal name.
    • Set Type of POS to Physical POS.
    • Select Company that uses a POS terminal. The Company field is available if the Manage multiple companies checkbox is selected in Settings > Company.
    • Select Cash register to assign the POS terminal to.
    • If you want to connect a POS terminal to 1C:Drive, clear the Use without connecting peripherals checkbox. Select this checkbox if you want to account for retail sales in 1C:Drive and, at the same time, accept payments by cards through a POS terminal without connecting it to 1C:Drive.
    • Fill in other details if necessary.
  6. To indicate payment card types supported by a POS terminal, add them to the payment card types list. To do this, click Add and select a payment card type. If it is missing, click plus.png for the Payment card type field, enter the description of the payment card type, and click Save and close.
  7. In the POS terminal (create) window, click Save and close.

Creating POS terminal for online payments

To create a POS terminal for online payments:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Enterprise, click All catalogs.
  3. In the Information reference window, under Retail, click POS terminals.
  4. Click Create.
  5. In the POS terminal (create) window, do the following:
    • Fill in Description to indicate a POS terminal name.
    • Set Type of POS to Online payments.
    • Select Company that uses a POS terminal. The Company field is available if the Manage multiple companies checkbox is selected in Settings > Company.
    • Select Payment processor to indicate the organization that processes electronic transactions registered through a POS terminal.
    • Select Bank account for online payments and online receipts processed by Payment processor.
  6. To indicate how to record payment processor transactions registered through a POS terminal, select one of the following options:
    • Keep transaction details. Payment processor balances and payouts are recorded in detail, including the details about online payments and online receipts. Both payment processor fee and payout are recorded on posting bank receipts with the Payout from payment processor operation type.
    • Keep totals only. Payment processor balances and payouts are recorded as total amounts, without details about online payments and online receipts. The payment processor fee is recorded on posting online payments and online receipts. The payout from the payment processor is recorded on posting bank receipts with the Payout from payment processor operation type.
  7. To indicate payment card types supported by a POS terminal, add them to the payment card types list. To do this, click Add and select a payment card type. If it is missing, click plus.png for the Payment card type field, enter the description of the payment card type, and click Save and close.
  8. In the POS terminal (create) window, fill in other details if necessary.
  9. Click Save and close.
