<< Prev   Next >>

The Sales variance by sales target types report shows sales targets, actual sales, and differences between them by sales target type in the selected period. The amounts and quantities are shown only by sales target dimensions specific to the selected sales target type. For example, the amounts and quantities can be shown by Sales representative, Sales territory, and Product category.

To analyze the amounts and quantities by all sales target dimensions, see Sales variance arbitrary.

For each dimension, you can view the following amount and quantity details:

  • Target. The planned sales amount or quantity.
  • Actual. The actual sales amount or quantity.
  • Difference. The difference between Actual and Target.
  • Variance. The difference between Actual and Target represented as percentage. It is calculated by the following formula:
    Variance = (Actual - Target) / Target × 100%

The amounts are shown in the presentation currency.

The quantities indicate quantities of product units.

The quantity details are shown only if the selected sales target type is quantity-based (the Specify quantity checkbox is selected in the sales target type settings).

The target quantities and amounts are based on the data recorded by sales target documents applicable in the selected period.

The actual quantities and amounts are based on the data recorded by sales documents (such as sales invoices) posted in the selected period.
