Allocation tab

The Allocation tab of a production document contains allocation details for components and operations (information on which components and operations were consumed to manufacture which product, or which products were disassembled into which components).

Component allocation details are used for calculating production cost of each product.

Field Description
Finished product
Product A product name.
The list of values is based on the Products catalog and includes products of the Inventory type.
Batch A product batch code.
You can specify a batch if accounting by batches is enabled and applies to the product (in the product's card, the Batches checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
Quantity Quantity of product units that were manufactured.
Unit Unit of measure for a manufactured product.
GL account A GL account used for inventory accounting of a manufactured product.
Component
Product Name of a component or operation consumed to manufacture a product.
Batch A component batch code.
You can specify a batch if accounting by batches is enabled and applies to the component (in the component's card, the Batches checkbox is selected on the Additional data tab).
Quantity Quantity of component units or operations that were consumed during production.
It is only available if Process type is set to Assembly or Convert from Work-in-progress.
Quantity per cost share The quantity of product allocated to a produced component.
It is only available if Process type is set to Disassembly.
Unit Unit of measure for a component or operation.
GL account A GL account used for inventory accounting of an inventory item involved in assembly or disassembly.
It is only available if Process type is set Assembly or Disassembly.
Consumption GL account A GL account used for inventory accounting of a component consumed during production.
By-product Indicates whether consumption of a component or operation produces any by-products.
It is only available if Process type is set to Convert from Work-in-progress.
Business unit A business unit where operations are completed.
It is only available if Process type is set to Convert from Work-in-progress.
Cost object An entity for allocating production cost. It may include one of each:
  • Project
  • Production order
  • Product
  • Variant

It is only available if Process type is set to Convert from Work-in-progress.
