A cost pool is a group of costs affected by a single cost driver.

Examples of cost pools and matching cost drivers:

Cost pool Cost driver
Payroll Direct labor hours
Equipment maintenance Machine hours

Accounting of indirect costs, such as overhead, is based on cost pools.

In 1C:Drive, cost pools are involved in the production processes. They are used to assign predetermined overhead rates to manufacturing operations.

1C:Drive stores all cost pools in the Cost pools catalog. To open it:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Cost pools.
The Cost pools catalog is only available if the Enable Production subsystem checkbox is selected in Settings > Production.

Viewing cost pools

To view cost pools:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Cost pools.

The Cost pools list contains the following column:

  • Description. A cost pool name or short description.

To quickly find a cost pool in the list:

  • Sort the list by clicking the column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
  • Search the list using the search field above the list.

Creating cost pools

To create a cost pool:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Cost pools.
  3. Click Create.
  4. In the Cost pool (create) window, enter or select the following:
    Field Description
    Description A cost pool name or short description.
    Cost driver The pool’s cost driver.
    The list of available cost drivers is based on the Cost drivers catalog.
  5. Click Save and close.

Editing cost pools

To edit a cost pool:

  1. Go to Production.
  2. Under Catalogs, click Cost pools.
  3. Double-click a cost pool line.
  4. Edit the cost pool details as described in Creating cost pools.
  5. Click Save and close.
