Base unit
A product’s main unit of measure. It is the default unit of measure in business documents. A product can have additional units of measure. Quantities in additional units of measure are always converted to base units of measure when you post business transactions.
For example, you store coffee in kilograms and sell it in packs. Then you can set a kilogram as the base unit of measure and register a pack as an additional unit of measure.
