1C:Drive license management
This article describes the software license protection mechanism introduced in 1C:Drive.
A commercial software license is required for a client computer to start 1C:Drive. Licenses can be obtained from your local 1C:Drive distributor.
Each license is for 1, 5, 10, 25, or 50 concurrent users. You can activate several licenses if necessary (for example, if you require 17 concurrent users you can activate licenses for 10, 5, 1, and 1 user).
1C:Drive licenses are perpetual. However, each license has a time-limited SMUA subscription. When SMUA for your license expires, you can still use the application but cannot install updates. To renew SMUA, you need to pay a renewal fee to the local 1C:Drive distributor.
To manage your SMUA subscriptions, go to your 1Ci account. To learn more, see 1Ci SMUA policy.
This article offers assistance on:
- Obtaining license registration numbers and PIN codes.
- Activating license registration numbers before the first use.
- Viewing activated licenses.
- Reactivating licenses after hardware changes.
- Deactivating licenses that are not needed.
- Updating a licensed 1C:Drive copy.
Obtaining license registration numbers
The registration numbers for your 1C:Drive licenses are provided by the local distributor that sold you this copy of 1C:Drive. They can be in printed form, email message, or otherwise.
If you cannot locate the license registration numbers, contact the local distributor and ask them to provide the numbers. They will send you one or several license registration numbers, each accompanied with 3 one-time PIN codes.
Retain these numbers and PIN codes as you might need them in the future.
Activating license registration numbers
1C:Drive requires an active license to start. If you try to start it without a license, you will be prompted to activate a license obtained from the local 1C:Drive distributor.
If you see this message, follow these steps to activate a license:
- Make sure that your computer has internet access.
- Click Activate.
The license activation window is displayed. - In the Registration number field, enter the registration number for your license.
- In the PIN Code field, enter a PIN code for this license that you have not used earlier.
- Click Activate.
- Write down the PIN code you used to activate the license. You will need it if you choose to deactivate the license later.
Note. All PIN codes are one-time. If this license is deactivated for any reason, to reactivate it you will need to use another PIN code.
If you need more concurrent users, you might want to activate additional licenses.
To activate an additional license:
- Make sure that your computer has internet access.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click Application licenses.
- Click Activate license.
If this license is deactivated, you will need to use another PIN code to reactivate it.
Viewing activated licenses
The licenses currently activated for your copy of 1C:Drive are displayed in the License details list.
In this list, you can:
- View registration numbers and SMUA expiration dates for all active licenses.
- Deactivate a license.
To open the list:
- Make sure that your computer has internet access.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click Application licenses.
- Click License details.
Reactivating licenses
If you make any hardware changes to the computer where 1C:Drive is installed, your application licenses will be temporarily suspended and you will need to reactivate them.
When you start 1C:Drive for the first time after making a hardware change, you will be prompted to reactivate your license.
If you see this message, follow these steps to reactivate your license:
- Make sure that your computer has internet access.
- In the Old PIN Code, enter the PIN code you used to activate the license.
- In the New PIN Code, enter another PIN code for this license that you have not used earlier.
Note. If you have used up all PIN codes for this license, contact the local distributor that sold you this copy of 1C:Drive. They will provide you with additional PIN codes. - Click Activate.
Deactivating licenses
If you have more than one active license you might want to deactivate some of them to reduce SMUA costs.
For example, you have three active licenses for 50 users each but you never exceed 100 concurrent users. In this situation, you might choose to deactivate one of them. This will decrease the total number of concurrent users from 150 to 100, resulting in reduced SMUA payment.
In another scenario, you might want to deactivate a license to be able to update 1C:Drive to a later version. To learn more, see Updating a licensed 1C:Drive installation.
To deactivate a license:
- Make sure that your computer has internet access.
- Go to Settings.
- Under Application settings, click Application licenses.
- Click Deactivate license.
The license deactivation window is displayed. - In the Registration number field, enter the registration number for the license to deactivate.
- In the PIN Code field, enter the PIN code you used to activate the license.
- Click Deactivate.
