Fixed asset categories catalog


A fixed asset category is a class of fixed assets that share common characteristics. For example, fixed assets can have such categories as Land, Buildings, Equipment, or Vehicles.

In 1C:Drive, fixed asset categories are used to classify fixed assets. If template-based accounting is enabled, to record fixed asset transactions, you can set up a separate account for each fixed asset category.

1C:Drive stores all fixed asset categories in the Fixed asset categories catalog. It is available if the Use fixed assets checkbox is selected in Settings > Company, under Other.

To open the Fixed asset categories catalog:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed assets, click Fixed asset categories.

Viewing fixed asset categories

To view fixed asset categories:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed assets, click Fixed asset categories.

The Fixed asset categories list shows the details of all fixed asset categories. The details may vary depending on the list settings. The following details can be available:

  • Description. The name or short description of a fixed asset category.

Fixed asset categories can be included in groups. The groups are shown as folders in the Fixed asset categories list. Expand the groups to view their content. To do this click the arrow icon next to the group name. To collapse the group, click the arrow icon again. To quickly find a fixed asset category:

  • Sort the catalog by column by clicking a column header. To change the sorting order, click the header again.
  • Search the catalog using the search field above the list.

To view the details of a fixed asset category:

  • In the Fixed asset categories catalog, double-click a fixed asset category line.

Creating fixed asset categories

To create fixed asset categories:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed assets, click Fixed asset categories.
  3. In the Fixed asset categories catalog, click Create.
  4. In the displayed window, specify the following details:

Creating groups of fixed asset categories

You can create groups of fixed asset categories to classify them by a certain characteristic. For example, group "Land" that includes fixed asset categories "Land" and "Land improvements". Such a classification is for reference purposes only. Groups also make it easier to navigate through the catalog when fixed asset categories are numerous.

To create a group of fixed asset categories:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed assets, click Fixed asset categories.
  3. In the Fixed assets categories catalog, click Create group.
  4. In the displayed window, fill in the following fields:
    Field Description
    Description A group name or short description.
    Group A group that this group is included in.
    Keep the field blank if you do not want to include a group in another group.
    The parent group list includes the groups already existing in the Fixed asset categories list.
  5. Click Save and close.

The fixed asset group appears as a folder in the Fixed asset categories list.

To add a fixed asset category to a group:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed asset categories, click Fixed asset categories.
  3. Do either of the following:
    • Drag a fixed asset category line to a group.
    • Double-click a fixed asset category line and, in the Group field of the displayed window, specify a group. Then, click Save and close.

To remove a fixed asset category from a group:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed asset categories, click Fixed asset categories.
  3. In the Fixed asset categories catalog, double-click a fixed asset category line.
  4. Clear the Group field.
  5. Click Save and close.

Editing fixed asset categories

To edit a fixed asset category:

  1. Go to Company.
  2. Under Fixed assets, click Fixed asset categories.
  3. In the Fixed asset categories catalog, double-click a fixed asset category line.
  4. Edit the details of a fixed asset category in the same way as when you create the category. For details, see Creating fixed asset categories.
  5. Click Save and close.
